The Great Debates

Final episode before we return for Long June!  

First aired in October 2015, this classic ep contains two early gems — a debate about the “paper method” vs. the “water method”, and a debate over who would make the better president: Kanye West or then-candidate Trump.

The guys are taking a short hiatus in preparation for Long June 2017.  So until then, enjoy this classic from last summer:

The guys give their take on the graduates of accredited colleges, in "The Average College Graduate Can Name an Architect".  During a breezy host chat some Song of the Summer candidates are tossed around, and, after a brief Top about 'ems, an adorable Great Debate unfolds.

In which Medina declares it to be Movie Week.  The gents debate about the taste of Popcorn.  During host chat, a discussion of tastes leads to the hard numbers on Bathroom Day.  For the main event, an epic contest. 

  

In which Steve, Dave & Dan are finally together again in the Great Debates Studios with no one else around, and everything is fine.  For the micro, a debate about Mike Pence.  In host chat, the guys get into the architecture of chain restaurants.  For the Great Debate, a legacy is evaluated.  

In which comedy writer Owen Elickson joins Steve & Dan in the Great Debates Studios, as the gents grin and bear yet another week without Dave. Hely and Owen discuss Dunkin Donuts. A debate on the relative merits of Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory breaks out. Finally, the debaters tackle an uncomfortable subject.

In which Dave makes his triumphant return, and the gents welcome special guest Colin Jost to the Great Debates Studios.  Hely has bathroom-related top.  During host chat, March Madness proves to be an rich jumping-off point.  For the Great Debate, a troubling resolved.  

In which writer Dan Greaney pays a visit the Great Debates Studios, sparring with Hely on life after 40.  For the main event, a debate on the legal profession.  

In which Dave is still absent, and Fabrizio inquires about full-time employment.  Hely and Fabrizio get into it about Avatar fans.  The guys miss Dave, and attempt to debate with him by voicemail.

In which King is absent, so special guest Fabrizio Copano returns to keep his seat warm.  Fabrizio and Hely get biblical.  During Host Chat, the tale of the Golden Seagull.  For the Great Debate, a super hero throwdown.  We close with an intergalactic planetary lightning debate

In which Ben and Kate return to the Great Debates Studios for another round of insightful debates.  Ben argues that Sushi is Gross.  Hely has a game that puts the kids in the hot seat.  Kate defends Amusement Parks. 

In which the Electoral College is weighed against the Academy voting system.  Medina, having seen none of the films in contention, gives his annual vibe-based Oscar rankings.  

In which the gents celebrate Valentine's Day.  For the micro, the cast of "Friends" is considered.  In Host Chat, Hely is feeling amorous.  For the Great Debate, King is put in an impossible position.  

In which the guys can find nothing more interesting to talk about than the weather.  In Host Chat, Hely has a movie game.  For the main event, a heated exchange on church and state. 

In which the Bros get ready for some football by welcoming special guest Mina Kimes of ESPN to the Great Debates Studios.  Yes, we talk Patriots.  Yes, we talk Belichick.  Yes, we talk Gaga.  Also we talk Matt Patricia. 

In which Medina reflects briefly on the Great Debates Theme.  The likelihood of the First Female President having been present at the Women’s March is considered.  In Host Chat, the fate of the Chest Hair Challenge is revealed.  For the Great Debate, an audio clip is analyzed. 

In which the listeners continue their barrage of demanding topics.  The gents enter into a dispute, at micro-length, over the reanimation of Benjamin Franklin.  In Host Chat, a moment or two for the States.  For the main event, we talk chest hair. 

In which the listeners are the real stars of the show.  The gents duke it out over debit cards & credit cards, the complexity of baby-relationships, the design of digits, and of course, Putin.   No games, no boring stories, just a whole lotta debate.
